Housed in the oldest building on the Waxahachie square, built in 1889, the museum features exhibits highlighting more than 130 years of Ellis County history. Admission is free, making it a great stop for families, history enthusiasts, and newcomers wanting to learn more about the community.
3. Getzendaner Park & Chautauqua Auditorium | Waxahachie
Many visitors know Waxahachie for its historic homes, but fewer discover Getzendaner Memorial Park.
This beautiful park features walking trails, mature trees, open green spaces, and the historic Chautauqua Auditorium. Built in 1902, the octagonal auditorium is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to host performances and community events today.
