Hi there!
Doesn’t February feel like a fresh canvas? Especially since January was 87 days long (J/K but it sure did feel like it!) Now that the holidays are fully behind us, I’m excited to dive into the cozy vibes and the fresh page a new month always brings. Whether you’re in full goal-executing mode or just taking it easy, I hope February brings you peace, joy, and new beginnings.
Before we jump into all the good stuff, here’s a little roundup of life lately:
Personally, it was a busy month with getting back into the swing of school. My sister also visited with her kids and they had a blast playing together. Of course they were rowdy and drove us crazy too haha. Chris and I attended the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce event and had a great evening together.
Professionally, we had our awards banquet this month and I was thrilled to have one several awards. It was an honor to be amongst the top individual agent within my brokerage. Real estate truly is my passion and I don’t take the privilege of serving my clients lightly. I want every client to feel like they are my only client. Thank you for trusting in me and sending me referrals! This month I also had a buyer move from FL to TX, as well as three listings and one lease listing hit the market. You can find out more about those below.
I’d love to hear from you, too! Hit reply and tell me about your favorite moments from January or something you’re excited about this month. Can’t wait to hear from you.

Here’s what I’m noticing in the Dallas-Fort Worth market:
Things are shifting towards a more balanced market, with inventory increasing.
If you’re thinking about buying, now could be a good time because homes are taking longer to sell, and sellers are more open to negotiations. They’re motivated to make a deal!
If you’re considering selling, homes are selling at a slower pace, and your location will determine if you’ll get top dollar. If you can wait until spring, you might see better results. However, I have an incredible opportunity to list your home off-market in our Private Collection, accessible to 2,500 agents with Keller Williams around the DFW Metroplex. This doesn’t rack up days on the market either!
Curious about your home’s value in this market?
Whether you’re thinking about selling soon or just want to know your home’s current worth, I’m offering a free, no-strings-attached home value estimate. Send me a message to find out what your home could be worth in today’s market—no pressure, just the facts.

Chestnut Square in McKinney, Texas, is an enchanting journey back in time, encapsulating the essence of early Texas life through its historic village. Established to preserve and share the rich history of Collin County, Chestnut Square features ten historic structures dating from 1854 to 1930, each with its own story to tell. This living history museum is not just a collection of buildings but a vibrant community space where the past comes alive through various educational programs, events, and daily life demonstrations.
The heart of Chestnut Square is its collection of restored buildings, including the Faires House, built in 1885, which serves as the welcome center and gift shop, offering visitors a taste of Victorian architecture and life. The Captain John Johnson House, with its Greek Revival style from 1854, stands as one of the oldest homes in Collin County, providing insights into the lives of early settlers. The Mill House, once used for milling grains, and the Blacksmith Shop, where metalwork demonstrations bring back the clang of the hammer, further enrich the visitor’s experience, illustrating the self-sufficient nature of communities in the 19th century.
Chestnut Square isn’t merely a place to observe history; it’s an interactive experience. Throughout the year, the village hosts numerous events that engage the community, such as the Farmers Market, which has become a staple for local goods and crafts, and seasonal events like the Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank-Off, where traditional ice cream making is not only demonstrated but also enjoyed by all. These events, along with educational tours, workshops, and living history days, where volunteers dress in period attire to perform tasks from the era, make Chestnut Square a dynamic educational resource. It’s a locale where children and adults alike can learn about Texas history in an immersive, hands-on environment.
Moreover, the setting of Chestnut Square within Heritage Park adds another layer of attraction, where history meets nature. The park provides a backdrop for these historic structures, fostering a sense of continuity from the past to the present. Whether you’re there to stroll through history, participate in an event, or simply enjoy the tranquility of a bygone era, Chestnut Square in McKinney offers a unique blend of education, community, and heritage conservation, making it a cherished gem in the heart of Texas.
