North Texas Spring Storm Prep — A 20-Minute Home Check ⛈️

Hey there,

Spring in North Texas is beautiful — and a little unpredictable. With storm season ramping up, now is the perfect time to do a quick home check so small issues don’t turn into big ones later.

Here’s a simple, no-stress readiness list you can knock out in about 20 minutes.

Quick Exterior Check

Take a slow walk around your home and look for:
• Loose fence panels or leaning posts
• Gutters clogged with leaves or debris
• Shingles on the ground or visible roofline irregularities
• Tree limbs hanging over the roof or driveway
• Anything that looks like it could blow, tip, or detach

Power Outage Basics

North Texas storms sometimes mean short outages. A few easy things to keep handy:
• Flashlights in two rooms (not just one)
• A small battery pack for phones
• Backup batteries
• A surge protector for your main electronics

Water & Drainage Watch

Heavy rain exposes drainage problems fast.
• Check that downspouts point away from the foundation
• Make sure water isn’t pooling near the slab
• Clear any visible blockages now — not during the storm

If you ever need a trusted local vendor for roof, gutter, fence, or tree work, I keep a running list — just reach out and I’ll share it.

Stay safe and storm-ready,
Hannah

P.S. If you’ve been thinking about a home project this year, I’m always happy to sanity-check plans before you spend money!
