If you’re in the “I love summer but I’m over this heat” stage. Honestly, same.

Between the humidity, the bored kids, and the sudden urge to spend $500 at Costco just to escape the house and get a well priced ice cream… it’s a lot. So I put together a little Summer Survival List for you. Whether you’re trying to entertain your crew, cool off, or just get out of the house without losing your mind (or your budget).

Here’s what’s on my radar for DFW this July 2025!

• ​Klyde Warren Park Splash Pad + Food Trucks – Free water features for littles, shaded spots for parents, and food trucks for easy meals. Perfect downtown Dallas vibe.
• ​Fort Worth Zoo + Splash Pad – Animal exhibits keep kids entertained, shaded paths help with the heat, and the splash pad is a toddler win. Hit it early morning.
• ​Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark (Grand Prairie) – Slides, lazy river, and climate-controlled fun for all ages. Grab a cabana for a chill parent zone.
• ​Dallas Arboretum’s Children’s Adventure Garden – Water play, science exhibits, and tons of shade. Early visits dodge the midday sun. Bring sunscreen!
• ​Levitt Pavilion Summer Concerts (Arlington) – Free live music, family-friendly lawn vibes, and space for kids to dance. Pack a blanket and snacks for evening shows.
• ​Crayola Experience (Plano) – Indoor art projects, interactive exhibits, and AC galore. Kids can burn energy while you stay cool.

We don’t need flights or fancy plans to enjoy July. Although, I’d never turn those down but sometimes just a good list, cold drinks, and a little creative exploring in our own tour can be just as magical.

(This totally brings back year book vibes from back in the day but I’m gonna say it anyway lol)
