As the year wraps up and the twinkle lights come out, I’m leaning into all things cozy — books, blankets, and slowing down (just a little). I hope this season brings you time to rest, recharge, and maybe even get lost in a good story or two.

I recently finished this book, Binding 13, that is part of a five book series. Overall I gave it a 4.5/5 stars. It is definitely YA and an easy read. There were parts where I felt like they were re-hashing the same things but I was pretty sucked in. The book just ends and you have no choice but to pick up the next one to start reading to see how it turns out!

This book was excellent! 5/5 stars. It is about the Chinese culture in the 1400’s and it is fascinating. You will learn so much about the deep seeded cultural values and how they ruled peoples lives in that time period. If you’ve never heard of or learned anything about foot binding, it is interesting and sad for the women. I can’t imagine living in a time of such oppression of women.

I really really didn’t like this book. I listened to it on Audible and did not really get any takeaways from it that I didn’t already know. There was a whole portion based on telling you to read more books. Not a fan. 2/5 stars for me.

Hannah suggested this one in a recent newsletter, and I finally gave it a listen—Loveletter Whiskey on audiobook. Full disclosure: it’s… a little awkward with the car windows down 😅. Totally gives me Phyllis-from-The Office vibes when she was secretly listening to 50 Shades! If you’re up for a mix of romance, tension, and a little saucy fun, this one’s worth a listen.
